Lake Taupō

Snow-capped mountains, crystal clear waters, raging rapids, thermal hot springs, and lush greenery are just some of the incredible natural features on offer in the Taupō region. Located right on lake Taupō, The Retreat has its own private lake access, and is located right across from the Taupo Marina – providing guests a wonderful vista watching boats head out for a day on the lake.

We are 3-4 minutes drive to Taupō township which has a number of premium cafes, restaurants, bars, breweries, and supermarkets. We are 5 minutes from Acacia Bay and within the local area you will have access to international quality golf courses, some of the best mountain bike trails in the world (suited to all abilities) and some stunning fishing spots. Slightly further afield you’ll be able to visit the Tongariro National Park and if you are visiting during the winter season – Whakapapa ski resort.
