Each holiday chalet at The Retreat, Taupo is built across two levels with 110 square metres of living space. You get two bedrooms with ensuites, a full kitchen, and a private deck facing the lake. Each chalet also has its own BBQ. The chalets are close enough to the shared pool house and spa pools that you can walk there in a minute, but set apart enough that you feel like you have the place to yourself.
It’s accommodation in Lake Taupo for people who want to make their own coffee in the morning, head out for the day, then come back to somewhere that actually feels like theirs.

All eight chalets are the same size and layout. Each is self-contained with two bedrooms, two ensuites, and 110 square metres of internal living space. What changes between them is where they sit on the property and what you see from the deck, and the interior condition:
Chalets 5,6,7,8 underwent a full interior refurbishment which was completed August 2026, including new furniture and appliances.
Chalets 1,2,3,4 are yet to receive a new interior refurbishment, however they are still charming and have new furniture as of August 2026.
